Does anyone else feel like this was the longest week ever? We’re not sure if it’s because we’re still out of it from Halloween or we’re having a hard time believing that it’s already November, but either way we are more than happy that it’s already Friday. After this long week we are ready relax and have some fun and we know you are too. That’s why we’re going to make this weekend as easy as possibly by letting you know the best things going on in Philly this weekend.
If you’re a lover of seafood, particularly oysters, than we know the perfect way to end your week. Tonight from 6:30-8:30pm at Reading Terminal Market, they are having their annual Oysterfest Celebration. For only $50, attendees will get the chance to sample a dozen different tasty oysters all paired with delicious craft beers. Not only, can this count as your dinner and happy hour all mixed into one, but did we mention that all of the proceeds go to benefiting nutrition education programming for Philadelphia school children! If this doesn’t sound like the perfect way to start celebrating in Philly this weekend, than we don’t know what will!
For all you caffeine lovers out there, we have the perfect event for you this weekend. From 10 am on Saturday, November 8th, to 5pm on the 9th, Philly is hosting the second annual coffee and tea festival. For only $20 to $30, there will be over 40 different exhibitors from around the country giving samples of their best and newest teas and coffee’s. Not only are they sampling teas and coffees, they are also offering the perfect sweet and savory pairings to ensure a flavorful weekend. Oh, and did I mention that they are also giving out free gift bags to the first 1,000 people that attend the event. With the holiday season approaching this might be the perfect time to attend the annual Sugarloaf Crafts Festival in Philly this weekend from today until Sunday the 9th at 5pm. With an admission fee of only $8-10, and featuring over 250 of the nation’s finest artisans, this is an event any good shopper should not miss. Having jury selected artists who will present items from sculpture and jewelry to leather and furniture, there is sure to be something for everyone. This event will also feature live music, entertainment and of course delicious gourmet food for everyone to enjoy.
