  • Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk

We are so excited about the Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk! Philadelphia has gained another trail to its beautiful city! The views are amazing and the boardwalk was built to make it feel like you are “walking on water”. Very cool!

The 18 million dollar, 2,000-foot boardwalk starts at Locust Street and takes you to the South Street Bridge. It is an extension of the already wonderful Schuylkill River Trail, which is used by thousands of Philadelphians! It has 3 access points, at Locust Street, and 2 at the South Street Bridge

The Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk opened just in time for those beautiful fall bike rides, runs, walks with the puppies and even romantic evenings that end with watching the sunset. Rumor has it that one day it might even become a “love lock” bridge like the ones seen in Paris and Germany, according to Joseph Syrnick, president/CEO of the Schuylkill River Development Corporation. Lets keep our fingers cross that someone starts this trend, how great would that be!

We are excited to see what the future holds for the Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk and River Trail!
