Hemp Heals Music Festival
Former Philadelphia Flyers player and founder of the Hemp Heals foundation, Riley Cote partnered with long time friend and founder of The Nouveau Image, Michelle Miller and Live Nation to create the first Hemp Heals Music Festival. The festival is a daylong event to educate guests about the health and industrial benefits of hemp as well as promote brands and businesses that use hemp and other organic materials. Proceeds benefit local non-profit organizations that deal with health and wellness of those in need.
The Nouveau Image was responsible for the event planning, development, branding, media, and production services of the festival. Our company thoroughly researched and acquired sponsors, donors, and speakers. Some of the sponsors included Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps, Capital Hemp, Skunk Magazine, Ha Swesh, Manitoba Hemp Foods & Oils, and Nutiva, among others. Generous donors included Trader Joe’s, Food Alive, Kind Healthy Snacks, Pure Hemp Cigarette Papers, Vitacoco, and Blendtec. A few of the talented speakers in attendance were Christina Cooks TV host Christina Pirello, hempologist John Dvorak, and Steve Levine, President of The Hemp Industries Association.
The result was a successful first festival with over 5,000 people in attendance. Guests enjoyed musical performances by Bong Hits for Jesus, The Manic Low, punk-reggae artist Pepper, hip-hop legends Cypress Hill, and Sublime with Rome. Festivalgoers also had the opportunities to support organic and hemp businesses as well as to win raffle prizes. Multiple media outlets reported stories both before and on the day of the festival including Fox 29, CBS Philly, CW Philly, NET IMPACT Philly, and WMMR with Matt Cord.
Most importantly, Live Nation signed on to do the festival again in 2013, giving another opportunity to educate the public about hemp and other organic based businesses while enjoying amazing live performances.
